PD20 HELP!Need help!

Hi guys,

I've got a problem :S I'm just internetting, chilling, playing with my PD20, bam it goes on to low (not low mode, but barely on) I think, well good think I just orderd more batteries, only had 2 left in my TK10 whitch were fine. I drop the batt out, put the good on in, bam again barely on :S:S:S.
Cleaned it a bit, tried again, now it doesn't even go on FFS! What's wrong?:confused:

I really don't want my PD20 to die, it's barely 3 month old...:sigh::sigh::sigh:

If the other battery you tried was a partially used one from your TK10, I'd suggest trying a new one before starting to worry.

How does this come? I tonight orderd more batts so can't try it this week...>.< But why would this make a diffrence, I don't doubt your wrong, I just want to learn more about lights :)

Well, I'm certaintly not an authority so I could be wrong, but my thinking is: The 2 partially used cells in your TK10 may have enough juice between them to power the TK10, but there might not be enough in either one to power the PD20. Also I seem to remember when I let my P2D run right down (I've only run it right down once) it dropped to a very dim mode.

The only other thing I can think of it try cleaning the contacts, but I think the battery is more likely. Any idea how much use the batteries have had, and are they a decent brand?

The brand is Tenergy, and is sold by a good company.

It came with the PD20, so it's only been in there.

Those are a reasonable brand, from what I've read. I suppose it's hard to figure how much use they've had if (like me ;)) you play with the lights a lot on different modes. I've still got my money on it just being the battery. If the worst comes to the worst, the warranty should take care of things (even better if it happens to be from 4sevens).

I'm really curious about what it is. And to bad it's NOT from 4sevens, I never heard from them before I bought the light ... :sigh:
I hope it's just the batteries, I don't wanna send it and wait again for shipping time...:sigh:

I know how you feel, I would be the same. :shakehead Hopefully someone more knowledgable can confirm if it sounds like the battery.

I took the Chinese battery out of the one that came with mine, and I put a Surefire battery in it - seems like it's going to last forever :thumbsup:

You should always have a stock of as many batteries that you could provide fresh ones to all the lights you have that you "really need" all the time.

My alarm goes off at less than a dozen cells... :D

Hehehe, I got a dozen batts comming my way! I only have 2 (in a few days 3) lights that run on CR123 so I only need 4, then I still have 8 spare :) Lights have one downside, batts...:sick2:

I just did my old PD20 batterie with a batt already in the TK10 together and it worked 100% :sigh: The batt was just fine in the PD20, what do I have to do guys? Send it back for repairs? And with what should I clean it?

Can be that the TK10 works 100% with one good cell and one nearly depleted cell, it's the cumulated power that counts. My EagleTac T10C2 worked that way until one cell was completely depleted, I didn't know that of course, I put in 2 brand new ones. You must never mix new and used cells, for a test it is OK of course.

I repeat to wait until you can test it with a new cell, then send it back. You can clean the contacts with alcohol, if it doesn't work, you can clean the threads as well (head & tailcap). I had my P2D CE stop working completely from one moment to another, rubbing the contact with my finger didn't help anything, cleaning with alcohol solved the problem, it works as a new one!

I used faster shipping so getting them this week, I might be over-reacting but this is the first time a light has stopped working.

You must never mix new and used cells, for a test it is OK of course.

I second that and also not exactly an expert but it sounds like its just your battery! Good luck!
