Has anyone tried to use the reflectors from the Pelcan incan stealth light? It has a reflector that is much more bowl shaped than a normal one, and has a super tight hot spot.

The xenon bulb is integrated into the reflector, so it's a complete lamp assembly. I'm thinking that I can cut/grind/chip the end off so that I can adapt it to LED.

Is this a bad idea?

Daniel

i am assuming that the stealthlite has a similar reflector assembly to the sabrelite/m10/m11 if you just grab the ceramic bit hanging out the back of the reflector with a pair of pliers and twist and pull it till it comes free - i have an M11 lamp sitting on my desk that i am wondering what to do with it - i am not sure whether or not an emitter would fit in there - give it a go and let us know if it works or not

Hi.

I used my lathe to cut off the reflector. The resulting hole is just a bit small for the black plastic holder of the luxeon. The focal point is about 1/4 inch from the opening, so I'l have to play with it. I got sidetracked with another project.

I was originally going to use these in my lumenator, but it was too hard to get the focus for testing. Like you said, the focal point is higher than the opening and I think it would require putting the lux on a pedestal sink for testing. I can double check when I get home with one of my 3 watters from my e1 mod if you like.
