So I recently renewed my love for the pentagonlight x3, which is basically a surefire 9P with a bigger reflector. I have considered modding the xenon bulb but I only have the one. Then I came across this gem, which appears to be the same bezel size as far as I can tell and would convert it to led. I guess my question is, does anyone own an 8AX to compare lamp size to a pentagonlight x3? And would this led conversion work given the voltage range of the leds?

I actually checked in with Mark and he got back to me pretty quickly. He advised me that mentioning pentagonlight was a blast from the past and didn't think he would sell too many units if he fabricated something because its not the same as a big name brand of Surefire. I keep seeing a bunch of the X3s for sale for 30 bucks, so I am tempted to buy a couple and when the bulbs go out, I will have a project to tinker on.

The bulb module was $24 when you could buy them. So paying $30 for the whole light would mean spare parts like the impossible to find rubber boot cover, o'rings, a switch, springs, a lens etc.

A couple of years back I bought a spare X3 for that reason.

This is a blast from the past for sure. I remember these back in the day and people on this very own forum have them but the company is no good. The U.S. gov was after them for not being Berry Compliant or something and I recall only a few parts being sold and no lights. This was in 2009 I think. There was one light that made it into a hollywood film on an AR-15 and the style seemed ok. I wonder if other period lights like SuperFire and SupraBeam are still around.
