I have a question on the Petzl Myo RXP. A few weeks ago I was in the market for a headlamp to use for work (Fire Dept. we get the occasional "stranded/injured hiker" alarms) and came across the RXP at Amazon for $68.00. I thought that was a pretty good price so I purchased one. While waiting for my light to arrive I came across Spark headlights and was intrigued. Then SBflashlight had their Black Friday 20% off sale so I ordered a ST6-460NW. I received the Spark first and am really impressed esp. with the ability to use the frosted lens. So I was wondering how does the Myo stack up against the ST6? I am of the school of "two is one and one is none". How is the tint of the light? Also other than taking AA batteries are there any more advantages over the ST6? I can always return the light back to Amazon, but wanted to get some input first. I value everyone's opinion as I have very little experience in headlamps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Ryan

RXP :
- ability to switch from flood to spot in an instant
- no bouncing effect when running / better weight distribution
- you can buy AA almost everywhere

That was a good price for the RXP. +1 to everything Szemhazai said; in addition, it's got nicely programmable levels. Try them both and dump the one you don't like as much.

Recently purchased a Myo XP (I think?) Off steepandcheap.com. Seems like a nice little light- definately a fan of the ergos and weight distribution. But I would but hte construction quality on par with my Energizer hardcare headlamp. It even shares teh same problem with the little tab on the "floor" lens defracting a little beam of light into my eyes when its folded out of position to facilitate "spot" mode.

All said, though, I believe it would make a fantastic running/trail light although it does lack the water resistance of something like the PT EOS (of which I've quite a fan).

The light coming down from the 'tab' can be blocked off with a little epoxy -JB Weld- etc - opaque type, Just rough the surface of the 'tab' to help the
epoxy stick to it. or some tape (temporary solution)

The MYO Xp is ok for rain (distilled water does not conduct electricity much) but not for any salt water environment use -sailing, snorkeling .

Wonder if hair dripping salty sweat onto a MYO Xp or RXp has ever shorted one out during extreme physical exertion?
