I've had a blue Photon II for a while and thought it to be bright. But I just got a new white Photon II (and a turquoise and a green) and its brightness blew me away.

I did a quick comparison in a dark room against my Arc AAA and Infinity Ultra and it appears to be noticeably brighter than either. Does this sound right? If so, I know what my new EDC is going to be.

I forsee sometime in the near future that someone will say:

"Turn those both on for 5 minutes and see what happens."

Photons are a bit brighter for a while, but lose their peak brightness quickly and fall off from there as noted in Brocks brightness vs runtime chart . The photons are running at 6 volts but the batteries loose their punch quickly whereas the Arc AAA and Infinity Ultra are running much lower voltage but are fully regulated.

I had a Photon on my keychain for a long time, but I was replacing batteries a lot. I had the turquoise at first and then the white. The dimming of the turquoise was less noticeable than the white. Now I use an Infinity Ultra on my keys. While it is much bigger and heavier, but when I turn it on I know what I am going to get every time.

Although if you don't use it much then it probably won't make that much difference. If I didn't use lights at work so much I'd probably put the turquoise Photon back on my keychain.
