jtice, he said it was a foggy day, that might have something to do with it.

Catdaddy, do you have any other long-throw lights to compare it to? Any chance you could measure the current going to it?

Ail,

Yes, but I was also referring to the beam ON the house and such.

A flash, if it hits something closeup, will ussually cause the cam to wash out the background.

At any rate, this looks like a hellofa light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Photon King 1 -- BEAMSHOTS & Comparisions! NEW

I sent them to Charlie just now. I had fun and hope you will at least enjoy seeing "the family".

First off, the brand new Surefire KL6 had NO CAHNCE in the throw contest at 50 yards or 200 yards. Fifty was just to give it a chance.

Then you se my PK1-M3. It actually holds its on with the big PK1 and stomps everything else.
Enjoy,
John

OMG! M3 with the PK1 will look really... uh... interesting.

Anyone want to make a T.I.D for the PK1? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ok, just passing along the following from Cattdaddy

Charlie,

I have been having fun tonight with these new flashlights. Changing them around to see what they will do (carefully). The PK1 is still very amazing on the 3-cell L6 body. The E3C is very nice on the KL5 head. The balance is much improved. All in all, the PK1 totally dominated any kind of shoot out I tried to do with LEDs. There are a few shot to compare, along with some "family photos".

just for fun

that shot of the PK1 at 200yards is impressive, alot of light for a led at that distance /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

now all we need do is get Catdaddy to set up for a group passaround /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/poke2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cat Daddy
All I can say is WOW what a Light you got there I watched
the whole auction.and there was no way at this time that I
could have come up with the money to bid on it. I have a house that I call the money pit! Just like the movie. But
I hope that you get all the fun out of it there is.

Hi John,

Sorry but I rushed out of the house today and am typing this from work, did not really get a chance to do anything but eat and run.

Nice pics (Thanks Jeff, now quit fiddling with yore computer and go call MARK!), but there was almost no sense including the L6 distance beamshots, can't hardly see'em!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a mightily huge reflector. What diameter is it?
Do you have any incan lights in the PK's league?

If you mean the thing on the tailcap, that's the SW02 clickie switch with the rubber shroud removed.
