hey guys,
which color photon do u think is better for reading???
white???

do u think it is very harmful for your eyes to read form a white photon??

As long as your not reading one of those girly magazines...probably not...but it may hurt your wallet (batt replacment cost) I think there may be better choices for long term reading.

The white Infinity is pretty good for reading at night- up close it`s just fine and you`ll get weeks of use off one AA, though it depends on how much you read! The little Arc seems like it would be good too, even though the battery will run down quicker it`s just as easy to find AAAs as it is to find AAs normally.

I've found that the fluorescent part of the Energizer Arc White is very comfortable to read by and will run for ~ 7-8 hours on 4 AA NiMh (just always leave a set in the charger for power outages). I tested this the last time the electricity went off and was able to read for hours by it's light and didn't have a bit of eyestrain from it. After putting a LEDCORP single LED bulb in my Arc White, it makes for a very nice and efficient light. The reflector on the Arc White works well with this bulb and is nice for viewing things afar (and not too awfully bad for reading also) and the fluorescent is nice for close up work. Two and a half days of light by the LED and 8 hours by the fluorescent, I'd say that's pretty efficient.

X-Cal - I think you found the killer combination: <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>LEDCORP single LED bulb in my Arc White<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Provided the LED produces a decent beam shape in the Arc White's reflector, you get two longlife flashlights in one. With Lithium-ion batts it would make a great glove compartment flashlight. Only problem with that idea is you couldn't play with it as much since it's always out in the car. And God knows, we like to play.

RonM: LOL. That's the problem I keep having with my Turtlelite II. I put lithiums in it in order to keep it in my glove box, but I keep taking it out to play with it and I'm afraid it won't be in the car when I really need it.

Btw, IMO, the LEDCORP bulb produces a very nice beam shape using the Arc White's reflector. I was kinda surprised that it did work so well because I thought the bulb was only supposed to do well if the light had an adjustable head but, to my surprise, it worked very well. Almost as if it were designed for it and in my case I guess it was since it's found a semi-permanent home there.
