G'day
Could anyone please shed some light on what headlamp would be best for hunting.
I have a budget of up to $150Aus dollars.
So far i have looked at the ferei hl20 and the led lenser h14r.

Do the ferei headlamps have a zoom function? (or whatever its called) I couldnt tell from the site.
The zoom function is really handy when pigging because you can have it on narrow when looking for pigs or your dogs or whatever then have it on flood for when running through the scrub.
I know the led lenser h14r has a zoom.
Are there any other lights around that have decent throw and can be switched to flood?

One other small thing is i would like it to be able to have little light spread around when it is on narrow. (probably hard to find on a headlamp that can be switched to flood?)
Anyhelp or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Cheers...
Dan

Head torches

I have no idea on what to look for when buying lights
what head torch would you recommend that has both flood and spot functions?
I have no battery preference but rechargeable would be handy
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Re: Head torches

Try the Fenix HP25, it has two LED's, one for throw and one for flood.

Re: Head torches

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks good.
So between the fenix hp25 and the led lenser h14 what would you take hunting.
Anyone else have any other suggestions.

Please help a guy out.
Im realy stuck here!

Thanks...
Dan

Re: Head torches

I don't have one, but have read good reviews about the Petzel Nao and the video they have of it is interesting.

There is a member here carrot who has one you might ask his opinion for your purposes.

Re: Head torches

I've seen the reviews for this and I don't think it has enough throw on the spot mode.
So now its between the fenix hp5 and led lenser h14r because they can both be on spot or flood.
Are there any other good torches.
Or what would you choose between the led lenser and the fenix.

Thanks...
Dan

Fenix.

Fenix HP25 can have both flood and spot on at the same time, it's brighter, spot has some spill. I have a H7 and although the H14 has a tighter spot, it lacks any spill at all other than some horrible rings.

Google Fonarik flashlight testing and check out the beam shots.
