Hi everyone. I'm new to high-performance lighting so I'm still learning. I noticed my Streamlight Polytac HP torch has a plastic lining inside the battery compartment. I contacted Streamlight about this, wondering if it's form or function. They told me that this is to keep the batteries from rattling. Great! However, I also noticed that my Polytac 90 didn't have a lining. I shook it and realized what they were talking about. Does anyone know what kind of material this is and where I can find it? I had the idea of using a smartphone screen protector but I have also read that CR123A generate some heat so obviously I need something that can withstand heat. Any ideas will be appreciated.

They are usually made out of Delrin. Delrin is a synthetic material that's light weight and has very high heat resistance, making it suitable to be used for such purposes.

Yes, the sleeve is there to prevent rattling noise when you use 16mm cells, such as primary CR123A or 16340 RCR123A. If you remove the sleeve, you will be able to insert thicker cells, such as 17670 or 18650.

Oveready has them in stock, and you can purchase the sleeves there.
