Please, help on resistor...

I know it may be for you a stupid question, but it is not for me.
I want to put a 3w luxeon star in a 4c cell maglite. The value of the resistor have to be (by formula) 2 ohms and 2 watt. I found 2.2 ohm, 2 watt. I am afraid about the voltage of the source (6v), since resistor drops only the current.
