I have been doing a lot of research for my new edc. I have narrowed it down to four new xm-l lights. zebralight sc600, eagletac t20c2 mark II, the spark sl6800, and I can't stop reading on the thrunite scorpion v2. Could anyone help with info on flood vs spill, best ui, best durability, and actual amount of light coming out?
Please help with decision on new edc

First of all, you can bet that those companies will all pretty much represent their actual lumen values in their marketing (note however that the scorpion is probably advertising emitter lumens... it supposedly makes 460 lumens out the front).
The Eagletac and the Scorpion are basically competitors and the Spark and Zebralight are basically competitors. The former being more tactical oriented with the latter being more general purpose. All are insanely bright if you've never owned a high power light before.
Purely subjectively, I think the Zebralight SC600 is pretty special all things considered and it is the only one on the list I liked enough to purchase.

I own the neutral Spark, and it is an amazing light. It's very bright, has a terrific wide beam, and if you unscrew the tailcap to lock it out, it will always come on in the lowest mode.
You'll need quality cells for it, as the highest mode takes a tremendous amount of power.
I most often use the lowest and second-lowest modes. Outside, with dark-adapted vision, the low modes are truly a wall of floody light.

I have both the EagelTac T20C2 Mk II ("ET") and the ZebraLight SC600 ("ZL"). I cannot comment on the other two models you listed. Both the ET and the ZL are great lights, perhaps spectacular in the case of the ZL. The ET can operate on two primary or rechargeable 123 cells or on a single 18650 cell. The ZL only operates on a single 18650 cell. The ET allows you to swtich LED's. I have modules with an XR-E R2, XP-G R5 and two different XM-L emitters. I use the XR-E R2 for excellent throw and the higher output XM-L for overall brightness and flood. The ET is very well constructed and has been very dependable.
The ZL is my current favorite! It is more compact than the ET and the UI is very different. Much has been written about the ZL UI on CPF so I won't spend the time describing it. Nevertheless, I do like the ZL UI very much. It is easy to use and very intuitive. The ZL boasts 750 lumens OTF and I must say I believe it! It is very bright and floody. It also has a very useful firefly level that I really like and use frequently. It is a very solidly built light.
Overall I would choose the ZL over the ET. I like its size and UI better than I like the ET's size and UI. While the ZL is more compact than the ET, IMO neither is the best option for an EDC if you like to carry it in your pocket. The ET is far to big to pocket, again IMO, and the ZL, while smaller, will be felt. I ordered a holster for my ZL from Thors Custom Leather so that I can carry it on my belt when I choose. However, I currenlty carry a ZL SC51 or an SC31, in my pocket for my EDC needs.

I've been playing with SC600 since Monday, and it has become one of the lights I edc (I typically EDC 3 lights, but I don't think the Revo should count as it's so small). The Spark has been nagging at me to buy, I have just had a hard time justifying it. I think you should get the Spark, have me make you a holster for it so I can justify buying one myself. The advantage I see with the Spark is the ability to use 2 CR123s. None of the lights are pocket carry unless you have some big pockets. The SC600 is the smallest of the bunch, and I wouldn't want it in my pocket, so if you are going to belt carry it, size becomes somewhat of a lesser issue.

Thanks Hogo! You will find an e-mail from me sent this morning (EDT) after looking at all the pictures you sent of my holster in various stages of construction! No need to repeat my e-mail, but I am very impressed! This is how to carry the SC600!
Thanks very much for the replies! I didn't know what to expect. I expected to be given a hard time considering I am new and not really knowledgeable. I am amazed at the knowledge most of you possess. I think I'm leaning torward the ZL. I have to work on dark jobsites, and want the brightest smallest light I can find. My edc now is the neutron 2c. It is the first quality light I have owned, and just made me want to go further in brightness and quality. Again, thanks for the replies

I've got to say, I just received a new ZL SC600, and it's very impressive, and appears to be of very high build quality. And as far as brightness for size!!!

I don't own a Scorpion, but the reviews look great, and I love my Neutron 1C - so... Some people here know how I feel about that other brand that people recommend sometimes... I will have nothing to do with them... My recommendation: Buy a Surefire incandescent host of your choice, get a McClicky or Surefire factory forward click upgrade, and XM-L drop in... that way, when your drop in is considered outmoded in 6 months, you can always upgrade and ride the wave for under $20!!!!

I don't know if you carry the Neutron in your pocket, but unless you're not fussy about bulging trousers (hey hey!) I don't think you'll carry the SC600 that way. It's an awesome light and I absolutely love it, but for me it's just too wide for pants-pocket carry. If you want something that'll sit in a jacket or coat pocket though, it's perfect. The range of modes is also just about perfect, and is a major plus with the SC600. Having a light that's nearly four times as powerful as my SC51, but which can also go even lower than it, is fantastic for those midnight bathroom trips or those occasional situations where less really is more!
I have a very physical job. I do not like carrying it in my pocket, but the holster ripped off of my belt and the pocket clip broke in a week after that. I cant help myself I really have become addicted to brightness and I just want more. I am willing to sacrifice comfort (somewhat) for brightness, but only to an extent. I have watched the ultimate flashlight comparison beamshots on youtube and those were the smallest and brightest I seen. I am definately open to new ideas, but they must be bright, and I can't find anything smaller and just as bright.

...and you might want to consider AA batteries. If your lithium battery dies and you don't have spares, easy/cheap to find AA.
