I was looking at the convoy M2 Cree XM-L U2, although this company offers many version of this light.
Can someone please explain to me what I should be looking for here the price difference is nominal. Also does a 2800mA driver have to take a 2900 mAh cell? I have the orbtronic Panasonic cells protected 18650 2900 mAh NCR18650.. So can I purchase the XM-L u2-1B that has a 2800mA driver and put my 2900 mAh cells in this? Also what is the advantages vs these different choices. Thanks everyone!

This is quite the question you've asked damaster698.

Long story short:
  • Neutral (4900k) light color (yellowish). Dimmer with longer runtime.
  • Neutral (4900k) light color(yellowish). Brighter with shorter runtime.
  • Cool-White (6500k) light color (bluish). Dimmer with longer runtime.
  • Cool-White (6500k) light color(bluish). Brighter with shorter runtime.

The dimmer option needs 2100mA to operate. Your battery can supply 2900mA for 1 hour before it's empty. So you can expect ~1.4 hours of operation.
The brighter option needs 2800mA to operate. Your battery can supply 2900mA for 1 hour before it's empty. So you can expect ~1.1 hour of operation.

Edit: Whoops, sorry mods, I didn't even realize which forum this was posted to. Should be moved.
