Hi guys, well it's been three and a half years since I purchased my Polarion PH50, in my mind the most astonishing light ever. How do you guys see the future for HID versus the technological advances in LED based lights?
 
You live over in Bristol ? I live over the pond in Cardiff.

I only bought the Polarion PH50 2 months ago and love it. Have you had a lot of use in the 3 and half years? is the original battery pack still going strong?

There is a thread on HID vs LED with some interesting info. The consensus is that HID is still the king of throwers even with the aspheric LED's getting more powerful.

I see that the HID Market may not develop as fast as the LED Market in the future as all emphasis is placed on the latest LED emitters. Even Polarion have come out with a LED torch!
 
Yes not too far away, mostly used in Brecon and the Black Mountains. Have also used it the Lake District on a night hike up Scaffel Pike. I have 3 batteries so don't know how long one will last but have used it around 50 hours and still amazes me every time. One awesome light!! Same bulb!

Hello gents thought I,d join in the conversation I live in Huddersfield and purchased the polarion abyss last year and after some issues with the battery and then the light itself I'm finally very pleased. I must admit I would like the ph50 but cannot find one so wondered were you managed to get one from? Thanks
