I am working on my holiday gift list, and I want to give a very good friend (who is a LEO) a pair of "tactical" boots.

I would like to spend about $100 to $150 for a quality pair of boots.

Any ideas?

well there's Danner, Oakley, Bates, Adidas and many other companies that make good tactical boots I think the Oakley's are the hot brand for the Entry Team types these days but they are around 2 bills, the Adidas GSG 9's have been popular for a long, long time, but may not be suitable for uniformed wear as they look more like athletic shoes, I love "old school" Adidas sneakers so they would be my personal choice.. Bates is a well known law enforcement brand and the Danner Blackhawks are nice too! Just thought I'd throw some names out there to give you an Idea of what you could look into. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

On the Oakleys there are two versions. The US made and the imported. If you can find the imported version they are much cheaper. The US made is for agencies that require US made products.

The Oakleys are a very impresive boot. The US version is all black. The import has a little red triangle logo.

I also swear by Danners. Long lasting, very comfortable and Danner will re-sole them for $30 if its needed.

The Oakleys and the Danners sound like what I would like to give him.

Any online dealers that offer good prices on Oakleys and Danners? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks.
