As you know, we switched from black hard anodize to natural hard anodize this year for all of our flashlights. This was because our sales indicated that you preferred natural over black. But sales data from other manufacturers indicates black is more popular. Which is it? They both have equal utility so, I could use either if that is what you wanted. But whatever color we use, I want to offer only one color choice for all of our lights.

So, thanks to the CPF survey feature, you can cast your vote on which anodize color you find the most usedfull. Realize that they are all HA (hard anodize) and all cost the same. The current color we are using is called, "natural" because it has no dye.

You already know what color the natural is and I don't have examples of the red or green. But here's a picture of the black and blue:

Thanks to Chris Millinship for the photo.

Thanks!

Thanks AlphaTea! (Alpha Team?)

We are a small company and providing more than one color has been proven to slow our production even more. So, one color is all we would like to make.

peter, i think black is the best option.

looks very nice.
less qc problems
matches way better
more traditional

i really like the way the dark blue looks, and i think red and green would be extremely sexy, but more suited to small runs if you ever chose to do so.

i'm assuming this will apply to the ls also? i saw a picture off an ls with bad lighting, and it looked black...wow, was it nice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You are right. In fact, all the colors match better than natural. But black is the easiest of all the options to make and maintain consistancy with.

Your vote counts!

I voted black. This is HA III right? The only problem I see with black is finding a black flashlight in the dark, a tiny one to boot.

I think you missed one color. Or should I say mindset of the CPF buyer. The rarist and most desireable. I mean if black is phased out and replaced with natural my impulse is to get a black one before they're all gone.

DavidW is right, I am not asking what color you want, but what color we should make. If you are trying to collect all the colors, then your preference is less helpful since it doesn't really indicate utility.

Peter

Let me also repeat myself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif All colors mentioned are HA. They all have equal hardness and scratch resistance.

Peter

I have a Natural model but I gave Black as gifts. For diehards, Natural seems to be preferred according to the poll but I think that the general public would prefer black.

Black has a 'slimming' quality to it, it doesn't stick out on a keychain, looks more professional and also is black tie at the same time. It also looks mean just like the Chieftans hockey bus in Slapshot. All admirable qualities.

It's gotta be black, baby. Let it ride on black.

Peter,
While I would personally prefer RED, I think it does make more business sense for you guys to go with Natural or Black.
BTW, it is AlphaTea (no M), its an old term left over from my Ex-Nuclear-Navy days...another story, another time...

Hmmm.. I was trying to post a vote for Natural HA, but when I voted, it said:

We already have a vote for this poll from this IP address.

I'm positive I didn't vote on this previously, and this thread is dated from today (I just logged on at this moment). Not sure why it's doing that. Anyway, sorry for sliding off-topic, but as I said... Natural HA is my preference -- it's (one of many reasons) why I bought the Arc AAA and my two LS'.

I also got that message about a previous vote when I know I did not.
Anywho, I like the Natural finish but I also think that Peter needs to use whatever color sells the best.
