If anyone has seen this movie you had to notice that the flashlights they were using were either M3 or M4 with the Turbohead. I wonder if Surefire made a special batch of orange ones for Hollywood or was it a modification that the studio did? Either way it is really cool to see them being used in a movie.

if i had to guess, most likely a modification from the studio, perhaps they painted them or covered them in the coast guard bright orange stuff

They were painted or coated orange by the film company [by the props dept I guess].
SureFire did not produce them in orange anodised. I have that confirmed.

They definitely look sprayed....
The orange ones were M3Ts and the one Dylan picks up is an M4, as far as I can tell.

In real life, although Lithiums would make a good 'standby' light, I don't think 1-hr Surefires are a good choice for a disaster situation like this :D

Anyhow, I'll prob have a few lights on me in any case ;)

Just saw it last weekend. Definetly a M4 for the first light and then the ones in the disaster case were M3T's. It would be interesting to see if in the underwater scenes, when they are swimming if the lights were modified to work in those situations because you can clearly tell its M3T's for those extended scenes underwater.

SureFire designs and manufactures the Millennium Series to be tested and rated waterproof to 30 metres depth without any modification. The same goes for most other models.

Do they have one of those 'movie prop' sales where we can get the used props (the SFs in this case) for a song? In comparison to the movie budget, I think the lights are just trinkets to them, but valuable to 'learned scholars' :D :D such as ourselves. haha...

Just saw the film yesterday, my girlfriend thought it was really quaint that I stayed through the credits to see if surefire got a mention, when I told her I'd post to candlepower to see if anyone knows the models of the orange flashlights she gave me a rather pained look as if "no-one could possibly care what the hell they were or whether or not they were painted" as you can imagine I'm delighted someonebody else posted first, she probably thinks I'm looking at porn anyway but who cares, at last I've found a group as nerdy as myself, love this forum!!!

PS what did you think of the film? Here in Hollywood there were some good natured laughs at the cornier moments (for some reason we all got a huge kick out of the massive binoculars used to look out at the wave, seemed like the shot was planned as 3d vision or something), however we all enjoyed it, any flashlights in MI3? (That was the other option for me)

I have just seen it, there are some but I can't identify them....

One weapon light and a surefire (it think) Cruse uses to when a wall is blow up, I hope I haven't given away the plot !
