This has in all likelyhood been mentioned before ... However...
Has any one tried to make a led flashlight with chordless telephone batteries?
The round or flat type (such as the 3AAA side by side in wrapping style type) Batteries.
Granted that a head lamp would make more sense for these batteries (due to battery shape).
The output of these batteries is quite good (NIMH's, or Nicads).
They already output in general at 3.6 vDC or higher .
They are rechargable.
And even if your old chordless phone is borken the charger
is probable still good.
One way to recycle.
