I just wanted to let everyone know about the issue I had with my 4Sevens Preon 2. I was camping in Big Sur, CA this week. It was raining very severely all week long and the ground was muddy/saturated. I was using my Preon 2 often and accidentally dropped it onto the ground when I pulled it out of my pocket. My nephew had fallen onto the ground in the dark, and I was trying to quickly illuminate where he fell.

To make a long story short the switch would not work after falling in the mud. Dirt/debris got into the clicky switch. Good thing I had another light closeby.

I was able to disassemble the Preon 2 switch and clean it out after coming home to get it to work again. I just wanted to let anyone know that might work in a dirt/muddy environment. This may not be the most reliable light in cases where it is dropped onto dirt, especially wet dirt.

Alllright. Seems like my preon's developed an issue, too. It's already 4 months old, carried and used every single day. At times now it won't turn on, when I click it again, it goes on on either low or medium. It's just very random, seems like it's become a bit unreliable. It's not the batteries, I've used eneloops with it since the first day I got it.

When I got it, it would turn on randomly, too, then I cotacted 4Seven's, they told me to unscrew that... ring on the clicky a bit. I did it and it kinda started working well. So, the other day, when the light did that, I thought I'd again overtightened the clicky ring.. but no, this didn't help. I also cleaned the light thoroughly to prevent any crap from hindering the switch or contacts or sth. Doesn't seem to help. The light would turn on and work perfectly like 90% of the time, but there's still those occasional times when it won't turn on and I have to keep clicking until it does...
