Preon clicky, should I?

Hi

I will be placing an order with foursevens next week. I intend to order a red preon 1 and a red p2 body. I've read mixed reviews on the clicky switch on the preon 2. Should I order clicky tail cap or stick with a twisty interface? Is the rounded satin Ti clicky tail cap any different? With the P1 body it will be used usually on a keychain unless I buy a different keychain light to take the beating instead. With a p2 body it would be used for work and reside in a shirt pocket where a clickly interface would be easier to work with. With no picture reference on the USA foursevens site to compare the two clickys it is hard to know the difference.

Any help is appreciated.

From the reviews I've seen I haven't noticed a difference between the Ti and Standard clicky caps. I would assume they just changed the material.

Your mileage may vary, but I can tell you that I bought a P1+P2 combination set up for a very similar purpose and I have more or less stopped using the clicky cap all together.

I found that I was able to operate the twist mechanism even with heavily oily hands while doing lawn mower maintenance, and I liked the look of the smooth cap more. I do leave the pocket clip on when I'm running as a P1, so that gives me a bit of bonus grip. If the switch was the opposite style (press to turn on, not press and release) I think I might get a lot more use out of it. As it is I don't like that I have to cycle through the loud Click-Clack Click-Clack Click-Clack to get the high beam.

There was a reviewer who sent the retaining ring for the clicky cap out to be milled down and removed the metal protector piece. I like the idea of that improvement, but I would be worried about the durability of the rubber boot that isn't designed for exposure to the elements.

Good Luck,

Ben

I would be leaving the clicky stock, I'm having a hard time deciding if I should take the chance or not. The idea of a clicky when worn in a shirt pocket is very appealing, noise aside the mode cycling one handed while aiming the light at your target item would be nice. With the P1 body it might be okay if it were clipped in a pocket but it would likely be on a keychain.
