I bought the Keygos KE-5(XML-emitter) on ebay 6 months ago. I was very impress what I got for the amount it costs. It works with one 18650 battery. I needed it one night and all my 18650 batteries were flat so I put 2 C123A batteries in the flashlight. It started to get very hot and I removed the batteries. From that day it only works on low mode.(It got 5 different modes) Was the emitter damaged, can it be fixed?. How does the different modes on a flashlight works. Sorry for my English, it is not my first language.

It seems the driver is fried. As far as I know it uses a 3.7-4.2v driver.

If you have basic soldering skills you could definetely replace the driver with an AMC 2.8A.
