I went out in search of a Photon Freedom today and came home with two Princeton Tec Eclipses instead. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif Only reason was because I couldn't find a Freedom. I do kinda like the eclipses, and they were on sale at Cabelas for 5 bucks and change. I got a white and a green. They had some with the metal clip and some with the plastic. I opted for the metal clip, seemed easier to clip to me. Eclipse owners tell me what you like and don't like about em. I have an email into Brightguy for a Freedom, which I really wanted anyway. Thanks for listening!!! Doug /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have several eclipes and dig em. i would say like all small key light's, the 2016 batt's are the only problem. they are bright, and easy to use,( I like the switch a lot better then photon's)and as bright to my eye. though not as small as some, i actually feel it's easier to use becuase of it's shape and size. and no tool's other then a key or your teeth /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif to open the batt compartment. I don't have the II 's with the new metal clip but that was the only difficult thing on it to use.imho, it's a good buy! VDG

thanks voodoo,
You may already know but Kevin at Batterystation has 2016's for a buck a piece IIRC, I'm gonna get a few. Doug /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I do now! good idea to stock up a tad, i have a green on my keychain, and is my most used. (EDC?) And as i am a little anal about brightness, usually change batt's every 2 mth's, even if it doesn't need them. (which has been the case most every time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif) thanks! VDG

Simple way to get 2016's is scavenge 'em from the $1.00 Countycomm lights (which have two of them, meaning .50 each). You can also get them from digikey.com for around .30 each.

[/ QUOTE ]I bought four back when TTS was clearing out their PT inventory. Three worked, one didn't. So I guess I can say I'm about 75% satisfied with the Eclipse. PT said they'd replace it if I mailed it back to them. Shipping would have cost me more than I paid for the light in the first place (TTS had them REAL cheap!) So the fourth one has become a spare battery holder for the other three.
