Another question from the village idiot...
I know the instructions for my Rage don't say I can't use lithium AAA's, but are there any bulb life or thermal issues I shold be aware of?
Thanks!

Brad, lithiums have higher voltage and bulb life will be much shorter.

Thanks Paul.
Do you know approximatly how much shorter or if they will insta-flash on the initial current spike of lithiums?

There was a thread not too long ago that talked about using folded aluminum foil in the bottom of the PT-40 to give a good contact with lithium batteries. I believe the spring may be a little short in some of the older lights when using lithium batteries. I've been using lithium batteries in my PT-40 for awhile. It is bright, light weight, waterproof and rugged.

Brad, I wouldn't expect an insta-flash, but bulb life might be on the order of 3x shorter. This is based on some overdrive formulas from the Welch-Allyn threads and also based on peoples' experience using lithum cells in stock Minimags.

That's the thread...I put a Mag 4 cell bulb in mine with lithium batteries. After that I used the light in some nasty weather conditions. I didn't go out of my way to baby the light, and it came through like a champ.
