Hello to anyone reading this. I wonder if you can answer a question for me. Being a nooby, i am just starting to come to terms with some of the flashlight phraseology that exists, but i was wondering why my Fenix TK20 and L2T both run Q2 LED's, but have a distinctly different tint. The L2T is a very cool white with a tinge of blue to it, whereas the TK20 has a very warm white look not dissimilar to an incandescent bulb. The TK20 is also imvho an easier light to see with, as well as being tough as old boots.

the Q2 bin number is referring to the total brightness batch that the led fits into. there are different bin numbers for color. cree has cool white, neutral white and warm white. then those are broken down into alot of smaller bins.

bin is brightness class,
tint is color

as it is usually not possible to order a special tint, it is lottery.
(but way better than in the early "luxeon lottery days")

they run "Q2" leds because cree needs to stack more phosphor on the LEDs to make them warmer, thus reducing the efficacy and getting a lower rating.
