Quality 14500 batteries?

I've heard that trustfire and ultrafire can have shady quality. What are better quality 14500 batteries I can order? I'd like to have protected batteries as they are safer. I'd also like something that will fit into a Zebralight sc52.

I use naked Sanyo 840s in my Xeno EO3 and they're pretty much the standard in 14500s, much like Sanyo and Panasonic are the standards in 18650s.

Keeppower I believe uses them in their protected line, but I can't speak to length. Enerpower also uses them, if you can locate them. If it's a single cell light, you might just buy the unprotected cells and check them often.

Zebralight's 14500 uses the Sanyo cell and is protected.

I use Unprotected Sanyo's and Nitecore 14500's in my sc52.

I dont understand that logic. I have Nitecore 14500 that work perfectly, and in future I would buy Keeppower as you can get them a bit cheaper these days since Nitecore started enforcing MAP. Also Sanyo unprotected are great.
 
i use protected trustfire with flames, and out of 12 i bought only had 1 fail, the rest work just fine. not sure if they will last as many cycles as aw, but for 2,50 a piece, i don't care if they don't.
 
I have nitecore and eagletac 14500's. no complaints. I have a few trustfire protected that just came in the mail

Try to reach Nitecore staff for a defective cell or question about it, good luck...

There might be some good other 14500, I don't know but with all the good reviews in CPF and many other forums, for me the choice is obvious...

I think that what people are saying, as I am, is stick with the cells using the Sanyo 840mAh battery. You can find protected rebranders using this cell.

AW doesn't use that cell, as far as I know.

I would just buy a new cell. Probably a different brand if it was a significant defect. Hasnt happened yet. Cheaper than buying AW though - you pay more for the cells that's how they can afford the customer service...

Pretty sure the AW cell has less capacity than the Sanyo.

Nitecore doesnt use Sanyo either, Keeppower does though I think.
 
IMO nothing wrong with the AW cells. Proven safe and reliable.

If you need more current you can go with the AW IMR red ones or the Efest IMR cells. (Efest has been getting good reviews by HJK and I have been very pleased with their 10440 IMR cells)

If I needed new 14500s though, I would only go with the latest proven high quality cell and that is the Sanyo 840 mAh cell. I've actually got a few of the Zebralight 14500s on order but they have been lost in the mail somewhere so I can't speak to them yet.

I dont like using batteries with flames :aaa:But seriously i know what batteries you mean.
