Just received my new Mini 123 Titanium version, and I absolutely love it. Perfect size, weight, quality, and light output. My only negative issue with it is the lubrication, feels gritty and not very smooth.

What is the best way to smooth out the twisty action? I'm a complete flashoholic newbie. Could someone provide me a link to a good lubricating product for titanium and what I assume are rubber o-rings?

Thank you!

Get you a tube of nyogel from lighthound.com, and you should be fine.

The description for that says for use on aluminum flashlights. Does Titanium take a different kind of lubricant?

I have the Mini Ti CR2, and the threads were quite gritty at first. I am using deoxit D100L for the threads. It takes some work to smooth them out. It is much better now. I went through a number of cycles of using alcohol to clean the threads thoroughly, apply lube, then twist mindlessly, alternating pulling and pushing the two pieces together, and then start the cycle over with cleaning.

I use magnalube for the o-ring if that makes a difference too.

How would you describe the tint when compared to another flashlight?

I've only owned one other LED and it was the Nitecore D10 SP R2. Tint was nearly identical to this light. I'd say it was nearer to the blue end.

A prolific maker of custom titanium flashlights insists that Krytox 50/50 is the best lube for titanium on titanium contact. However, I've never used the stuff. I've used Nyogel (I think it's 759 or 790 but it's been superseded by a new "model") for years and let me say all my Ti is as smooth as butter.

Apparently my Google-Fu is weak. I can't find anywhere that sells Krytox 50/50. Can anyone give me a hand with a source?

Thank you.
