I just bought a used one of these and the "constant on" activation doesn't seem to be working right. The instructions state to "depress the button briefly (about 1/4 second) for constant light." Sometimes this seems to work, more often it dosesn't. It just stays on momentarily while the button is depressed. I varied the time from under 1/4 second to a second or so, and no difference. Any suggestions? Thx.

The basic operation is like any other button, just press and release and should be on, press and release and turns off.Momentary, keep pressing, release, then off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/poke2.gif

There is the possibility that the previous owner has activated the semi-tactical mode. In which case the the light should latch on after a double click and not a single click.

Try that.

That's it. Cool option. He just PM'd me that was the reason (and apologized) but I didn't understand the explanation how to get it back in the default mode. The instuctions are bare bone. How do you access the menu?

jook, have you looked at the FAQ ( second post in this forum ) and the Arc4 links in it? Plenty of instructions and even videos.

You click the light till your finger falls off. actually I think its 10 times. I don't bother counting. From the off state, start clicking. The light should go on and off about every other click. After 10 or so it will stay on. (the number of clicks is not important as long as it is over 10). Once it stays on, stop clicking. Now your in the menu and the light should flash the code for sos. Click again to advance to the next menu item. continue till the tac-1 mode. (second from the end, right after rfs) Hold the button and the light should flash 4 times then shut off. Thats it.

PS. If you hold down on the last click before entering the menu, you end up in the mode to set the light level.

Its easier to do than explain.

Thanks was and TCG. Thankst gawd for this forum, especially for stoopid noobies like me. I watched all the videos and, while it took several tries to figure out the option menu, success. I look forward to reading the rest of the FAQ.

We were newbies any time, all of us, and this kind of questions are normal here specially about a different light like the Arc 4+, if you dont get the clicks business just reset the light opening the unit for more than two minutes and start again. After a while trying it's very easy to get into the menu.
