Question about Lenslight Stinger 2x Rechargeable 123's

Hey guys. I'm fairly new on here, but I've been into lights for a bit. More recently I've been getting into rechargeable batteries 123's and 18650's. So far I'd only been using single cell lights, but I recently acquired a a Lenslight Stinger which can run off two rechargeable 123 cells. Long Story Short: I'm a little nervous after reading the different horror stories about using multiple rechargeable cells. I'm using AW cells with built in protection. I've marked the batteries so I always pair them together and I always charge them the same length on a 2 port charger. I know nothing is ever certain, but does it sound like I'm taking enough precautions to feel confidently safe about my setup?
