My question is, is it normal for the very first few uses and charges to be lower runtime (capacity?)...and that it takes a few cycles of uses/charges to have their rated or normal runtimes/capacities?

I have 4 C-cells running a P7, and it seems like the TOTAL runtime (almost always on high) is like about 2 hours. Is that expected?

How are the cells powering the P7? Driver? Direct-driven?!?! Any idea how much current is being drawn from the cells?

AccuEvolution C's are 4500mAh, so 4x is a nominal 21.6Wh. At full power, a P7 draws at least 10W, so two hours sounds about right.

I use 3x AccuEvolution C's to direct-drive a P7, and I love 'em. Great cells!

Well based on your experience, then I guessssss mine are doign fine and are correct.

I'm running shiningbeam's 3-mode driver (8xamc7135's)

At 100% efficiency, you're looking at ( 21.6Wh / 3.7V ) / 2.5A = 2.33h.

The driver's not 100% efficient, and Vf of the emitter is more of a variable (increasing as the emitter warms up), so ~2 hours sounds reasonable.
