looking for estimate on runtime on my TNC Keylux AA being driven at 200 mA with the IC-3 15 minute Rayovac(2000 mah capacity).

thnx! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

In theory, it should run about 10 hours @ 200 mA - assuming that 200mA is being drawn from the supply side.

But I imagine the 200mA is being fed to the LED.

So... 700mW @ the LED, adding 15% for the boost converter is 805mW, divided by 1.2V = 666.67 mA (oh, heck, 666mA) divided by 2000 mAH = ~3 hours.

There's just a bit of "Kentucky windage" in that figure, and it doesn't take into account the gradual voltage drop of the NiMH cell, particularities of the boost converter, cell recovery during intermittent use, etc.

is that 3 hours at near full brightness? seems like it should be more as per the runtime chart on the Micro Illuminator with 700 mAh NiMH yielded about 2 hours of steady output. and that light is driven at around 160 ma?? i think??????

i don't know maybe that does sound about right...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif
