Question on thread Machining & Anodizing Prcess

hi all!

Am I correct that standard flashlight construction process is anodizing and then recutting the bare metal parts?
or are these areas protected in a way during the ano process?

i.e. Solarforce L2 has the inside of the battery tube anoed, but module socket and threads are bare metal.....

And it all ends to this question.....why do manufacturers chose to have bare threads, sacrifising the Lock-out feature?
Just for not having stupid clients calling with the "my flashliht won't work" statement?

In my experience the lights I own mostly have chem coated threads and completely anodized tailcaps. The only part of the tailcap that should carry current is the switch itself, so it doesn't much matter if the threads are anodized.

Parts are just coated in a thin resist coating where you don't want anodization, no current flow in the chemical bath means no anodization on the area.

Of course most of these chinese and similar light companies are just cutting every corner to save every penny they can, so I doubt you would find a meaningful trend in anodization on them.
