Questions about Maglight ML25LT 2C and 3C lights. Convert to 18650s?

I can get a 2 pack of ML25LT lights from Home Depot delivered to my door for $30.00 Price seems very reasonable.

I am looking for a light that has more spread than my current Malkoff Hounddog but I can not justify the price of another Malkoff although I'd love to have one.
Perhaps these Maglights would work for me. Do you think they are bright enough?
And if I bought them I'd want to convert them from the 2 or 3 C cells to 18650s since I have nothing else here that would use Cs.

Could the 3C one use 2 18650s and the 2 cell use 1 18650? Where are the most reasonably priced converters?

What else should I consider before I buy these?
Thanks, Al.

This is a good question for a certain member here vestureofblood. He runs Adventuresportflahslights. Lots of good stuff. From my own experience going the rechargeable route with Mags then 1-3 AA cell rechargeable adaptars have been the relieable route I have gone. Search adventuresportflashlights.com.

He is one of CPF's Mag specialists.

The ML25's are plenty bright. Don't let the lumen figures fool you – look at the candle power or candela and the beam distance and compare to other lights of similar size and price. The ML25's are throwers with a huge wide spill that is bright enough to see up close without totally killing your natural night vision and without throwing up a wall of light that you can't see past. Great lights.

I use my own 3D printed adapters to run protected 18650's in my ML25's and other 2-3 C and D cell lights, they came out so well that I am beginning to offer them for sale, shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Wouldn't a pair of 18650's be too much voltage for a 3C light?

I series it sure would be too much. In parallel they would be OK. It might be possible, but in practice there really isn't much room in a 3C to get 2 protected cells setup in parallel in a 3D printed adapter.

If you`re using Ni-MH cells, you could use the same amount of NiMH cells as alkalines as the voltage of each battery is the same (1.5 volts)
I would just run the ML25LT with Nimh batteries. Safer than running Li-ions.
I have an adventure sports flashlight drop in for a 3`C` maglite and run Imedion NiMH cells in it. The cells have a 5000mah capacity.
Maybe someone can with a little bit more knowledge than I can chime in here and correct me if I am wrong.
(Edited my response. I think i was off in regards to voltage)
Found this online earlier about converting a maglite to Li-ion in regards to battery and bulbs...
