Who here leaves there li-ion batterys in there flashlights when not in use?

I only ask because I need to know if it is safe to do so.

My batterys are such a pain to get out I wish I could leave them in.

I have never had a problem leaving li-ions in lights for long periods. Just make sure you keep an eye on the charge level and don't rely on protection circuits to prevent damage to the cells.

Same here, although I like to loosen the tail cap of lights that are just sitting if they have a lock-out feature. I do this just for peace of mind; the only lights I leave batteries in are un-altered lights, and even if the light were to come on by itself, it wouldn't get hot enough for anything to go wrong, BUT, I do have some lights that have been modded, and I wouldn't dare leave a battery in them unless it was right beside me on my night stand. Those lights get hot enough for something to possibly fail, so I don't take any chances.

Basically, if it's not on me, or beside me, I like to loosen the tail cap, but like I said, it's really personal preference for an un-altered light.

I do this as well with all my incans and hi-powered LED lights. It's more of a peace of mind like you said. I have this fear that they will all turn on and cause a fire...LOL

The only lights I do not leave batteries in are the lights that are brighter than my 1185's.
