I just picked up a couple Seoul P4's and I'd like to "test drive" them to see which tint I like best. I have a CC/CV power supply that I use for anodizing and I'd like to know what settings I should use to avoid winding up with a couple friodes.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Well wvaltakis2,

If you are going to power them with more then, lets say 70 milliamps, you'll have to heatsink them (if they are not "star" versions..).
You cannot "overvolt" them (well.. with 20,000 volts.. you can !), however, you can "overcurrent" them !!

So: set a voltage between 4 and 5 volts, current set at "0" and when the emitter is hooked up slowly increase the current. I think you can easily determine the colortemperature operating them at 40-70 milliamps.

Edit: The colortemperature meight shift a little towards blue when powered at higher currents tho... But will be not much..

Regards.

Ra.
