So, I am having a hard time finding Cute-3 optics for XML out here in China, where I am based.
But I may have found some for XP but after looking at spec sheets for both Cute-3s for XM and XP, I am wondering whether they are the same?

All the physical dimensions are the same.
Even the hole for the emitter (4.4mm). Only the beam angles change as in the eg. the narrow Cute (C10754_CUTE-3-SS ) is more narrow in the XP version but that could be explained by the emitter being inherently more narrow.

Does any of you happen to know if they are actually the same as long as the first part of the part number is the same...?

One way to check it is if one of you have a Cute-3 for XM-L and a sliding caliper around and the time on hand and inclination to just take the measurement where the emitter goes into the lens?

I would have thought that a designated Cute for XM-L would be bigger than 4.4mm as the emitter itself is 5x5mm.

Perhaps the drawing is off, or perhaps the XM-L dome meniscus is <= 4.4mm diameter. I do see what you are talking about, though. XP-G and XM-L datasheets have different drawings, but the same dimensions.

While you are waiting for someone to actually say something important, you could try contacting ledil directly.

Also, they will be at a lighting seminar in zhongshen in a few weeks. Don't know what a lighting seminar is, doesn't sound like there will be booths or anything. But maybe someone could bring you some samples if you contact them ahead of time. Or maybe the world doesn't work like that anymore.

I did go ahead and contact Ledil's China rep. Hadn't been smart enough to actually look for the sales rep first...
Surprise, surprise - rep gets back almost immediately and says the same thing as WeLight.
The optics for XP-G and XM-L are the same. Despite the size differences.

The rep was on a business trip but will put me in touch with a distributor here so I think I am set.

Thanks and I guess this is actually good news:-)
