Hi All,

I've been reading the users manual for the Ra Clicky EDC tactical and I'd like clarification on the tailswitch operation.

The manual states..."
The term “
press-hold-release” indicates that the button should be
held down for an extended period – longer than 1/3 of a second – to
allow your flashlight to tell the difference between a click and a presshold-

release."

If I define a click as "Press switch, past momentary on, until click is heard and then release the switch at which point a second click is heard. making sure that the time between click sounds is less than 1/3 of a second".

Then I could interpret the manual's description of "press-hold-release" in one of 2 ways.

1 - "Press switch, past momentary on, until click is heard. Pause in this switch-pressed position for at least 1/3 of a second and then release the switch at which point a second click is heard."

2 - "Press switch to momentary on position (no click heard) and hold this switch-pressed position for at least 1/3 of a second and then release switch (again no click heard)"

Which of the above 2 descriptions is correct?

Also, does the tailswitch have a momentary position before the click?

Thanks,

Momentary in a Clicky is different from, say, an L4 in that while the L4 momentary is "press lightly for momentary -> press harder, hear a click," the Clicky momentary is "press and hold for greater than a third of a second, then let go to release momentary" and constant is a quick click (less than a third of a second).

In other words, there is no separate momentary on the switch. Momentary is defined solely by the length of time you press the button to turn the Clicky on (greater than a third of a second).

Hope this helps!

Antikythera, that helps immensely. :) Thank you very much.
