Rayovac 1AAA Penlight

hey guys i just got the 1aaa penlight the other day for less than $3 bucks and was wondering if anyone had any instructions on taking it apart?

i only found one thread dated a while back but they didnt say how they were able to take the plastic cover off... i used a pair of pliers but i kindda smashed the plastic threads on the light but still goes in fine...

dont want to break my new light i just bought :tinfoil:

Just unscrew it.

Once you have unscrewed the module out of the pen pop the black cap off of the end and the driver/led combo will pull out of the white plastic case. I used one to drive a lux3 for a bedside low low type light. I put the lux3/driver combo into a generic aluminum aaa incan body with no reflector or optic for a flood type beam.

i guess im going to have to desolder the black wire thats connected to the copper flap that touches the metal tube of the light

You don't have to desolder it, the driver just pulls out. The wire will want to break at its connection on the board, just be careful.
