USPS through all the years of sending stuff, hasn't let me down. However, you hear stories from thime to time, re. a parcel's transit.

Well this is a good one. Light is sent from the Mojave Desert, headed to the upper midwest. I sent it off on Wed., and guess where it is today? ............... Freak'in Hawaii! .... :yellowlaugh:

That light's getting more miles than you are, and traveling an arguably a more scenic route as well...

Stuff will sometimes take weird routes because consolidating packages can be cheaper.

I was figuring the light wanted a few beers at the Monkey Bar. Then check out a few bikini's while he's there... ... :yellowlaugh:

But, it's still on schedule, so all's good!

Please do let us know if it arrives at the originally 'scheduled' time (or not).

Will do. Presently it's schedule to arrive on Sat. @ 9 PM (origional ETA was Sat. @ 8 PM). Unless the light arrives earlier on Sat.. I'm thinking he won't see it till Mon..

The Monkey Bar, has always been a distraction. Add a coouple of bikini's, and, we'll see how it goes. .... :yellowlaugh:

^ It's like that everywhere.
This is what happens once the gubbnet gets involved. Whatever 'agency' starts to think they are no longer able to lose their jobs. Funding becomes guaranteed. Along with over regulation and micromanagement. Way too much money gets put into following political rules and not for efficient business practices, or actually serving the clients. The customer is no longer the customer. They've become an excuse to keep following the rules.

Look at Boeing, or any of the companies in the defense industry. There's a crap-ton of waste and little accountability on any long term contracts. As long as a politician likes the project -it's a go.
Look at the medical field in California. Doctors are leaving because they can't make a living on medical patients. If your patients aren't rich and looking for cosmetic surgery, or can literally pay cash for any emergency, it isn't worth it.
The welfare system in general, while meaning well becomes another avenue for corruption and fraud. It used to be the church and/or local communities that would look after those in need. Where that still happens there are less problems. But where the gubbnet has gotten involved it turns into political leverage and money laundering.
Then there's that "use your budget or it gets cut to what you did use". They aren't pushing efficiency. They are literally pushing for waste.
I can go on and on and on and on...

I'm not saying that the government is inherently evil but it is inefficient. Why mow the lawn with a 16 cylinder quad-turbo 6 blade mower when a 5HP Briggs and Stratton will do just fine?
Once they figure out that the government is overkill it opens the door for all the mess.
