Reactor Complaint

Got a Reactor recently and got a problem with it. Functions fine, I like the output and all, but its that darn twist head. Seems to get stuck! It takes ALOT of effort to turn it, almost to the point that I'd want to use pliers, feels like something is inside it binding up like maybe a piece of rubber or an o-ring? Anyone else ever have this happen? Really irritating, otherwise its a great light. I don't even touch it being it is so difficult to turn off on. Any way to replace the end cap with some type of swith? never heard anyone hear mention a clikie for the Reactor.

What were they thinking of when they designed that switch? They could have made a small head, and put a tailcap switch on it instead, but NOOOOOO.

Well, there is more going on there than just the head twisting, the whole reflector assembly bobs up and down when you twist. There are a number of things that could be causing your stiffness. "Paging Dr. Rube Goldberg... under-complicated flashlight in room 7 STAT!! I'd say send it in for repair. By the way, with a name like Webley445 I'd guess you were an airgunaholic too. What models are you favoring in that vane?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Actually named after the much, much, older British Webley revolver. I will inquire of warranty service. And that'll give me something else ot post about.

Hey Rooster, webley445 may not be an airgunaholic, but I am. Collection includes a Beeman R9, Beeman P3, Air Arms S410E, Career 707II. Mr. Bulk on this forum is an airgun nut as well.

Really sort of lost some enthusiasm

Funny how great minds think alike! I have an R9 also, a P3 also, a Webley Patriot, Tau 7 match, and an Aeron B96. I thought the 445 in Webley's name stood for 4.45(mm), the metric equiv of .177 caliber. Honest mistake!

I tried to go with 455 but it was taken. Actually I had others I would have rather, but so many folks are already using colt, glock, takarov, etc. and I wanted something a little unique instead of the typical Glock or AK signature.

Now to stay on topic, I have the reactor in the glove box loaded with lithiums for "in case" until I get with them about warranty work. I really do like this light despite rants I've read against it. Was working with it again, there is alot of resistance when twisting. Sometimes it will only twist maybe 1/4 and stop. Then it won't want to go either direction. Very frustrating. Also I don't know if its the way its supposed to be, but it will keep turning in one direction, albeit very tightly. Is it supposed to stop after turning in one direction for so far? is there an email to contact them? guess I'd better check their site for info. Ya know one thing I've always been curious about, why did Sheridan get into the paintball thing but Webley didn't? Used alot of Sheridans back in the 80's when I played.
