I bought one of these years ago when a local jewelry store was closing. That's right, I found it at a jewelry store. Anyways, this thing has never been taken out of the box. I noticed that a used one sold recently on Marketplace for $125 and I was quite surprised. The light is heavier than a regular minimag, it must be made of brass or some other metal. What else do you guys know about this light?

Check the minimag collectors thread for more info. In short, it's a gold-plated finish on a brass body. They're quite rare, and every minimag collector's dream to own one (or two). ;)

oh there have been 24K minimags in the past...but chances are old sell threads are buried in Lights BST, not customs BST:whistle:

One just sold a few days ago:

That's what caught my eye and sparked my curiousity about this old shelf queen. I thought, "Hey, I got one of those!"
I'm not trolling for a sale, just thought someone might know a bit about this light.

Well, i have to admit: A very nice piece in every collection! Never saw one before... You can almost feel its heavy weight when looking at the pics. Thx for sharing toolpig!

I have pictures of one posted here, post #20: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=220605
Not sure how many were produced originally, the finish is fragile-handle with care.

You take great pictures! Your photos did this beautiful light way more justice than my amateur pictures. Thanks.
When I see those Maglites that take 7 or 8 cells, I have to wonder if anyone really ever toted one around.
