Rechargable bulbs brighter than Alky???

Below are two charts from the Carley web site. When comparing the alky and rechargable bulbs I notice that the rechargable bulbs have the same volt rating, but a higher amp, watts and candle power rating. Why wouldnt I want to use the rechargable bulb with the alky batts?

Because your alkalines may not be able to give higher amps. When it does, there is more voltage drop than the rechargables. Hence less brightness.

So you're saying the bulb for the rechargable light would not be as bright in an alky driven light as the alky bulb because the alky batts can't deliver the amps like the recharg batts can? So I should stick with the alky bulbs then. But wait what about using lithium aa batts, do they deliver more amps then alky aa? Can you overdrive these Carley bulbs by one battery? (ie. a 3 cell bulb in a 4 cell application)

I bought a PT Wave from TTS that William ordered for me. I also had him order the bulb that comes in their MUCH more expensive rechargable Wave. The bulb for alkaline batteries is 6.6 watt. The one for rechargeables is 10 watt. They told William the 10 watt bulb wouldn't run on alkaline. Since I'm using NiCads, I didn't care, but when I got the bulb, I did try it with alkalines. It seemed to work fine, but I imagine it would have sucked them down pretty quick. TX
