I have been thinking about getting some of these for my LED lights. Are they worth it or should I stick with primaries. I have done a search of this site but the only posts I could find seemed to indicate users having hit and miss experiences.

That is all I use. Get AW protected batteries and a good charger (Nano, DSD, etc) you will do fine. Stay away from anything else.

it's not the type of question that can be asked "in general" because whether or not an RCR123 is a good solution is per-light specific. Most people want to run them in lights like the P3D, which works fine, but you loose a lot of runtime as the capacity of most RCR123s is about 500-600mAH in reality.
