What are some good rechargeable (NiMH) cells?

Couldn't find anything in the 'shoot-out' threads... mostly AA stuff.
 
The CTA 12000mah & the Accupower 11500 are the best rated right now. The Accupower 11500 D's are in the "nimh shootout". Both are sold at Thomas Distributing. I have 8 of the CTA 12000 & use them all the time. Just beware these cells are VERY HEAVY. Put 4 of these in a 4D maglite & the thing weighs a TON! Not something you want to carry around all day!

I have a 6D ROP loaded with the CTA 12000mAh cells. It has had an hours runtime on the initial charge of the cells and is still going strong. Yes, it *is* heavy

I have a 6D mag with AWR's hotdriver running on Maha Powerex 11000mAh cells.

They ARE heavy. No doubt about it. But the capacity and current capability will ensure that my light runs bright and white for 2.5 hours, not to mention full regulation until shutdown. :)

I'm running the CTA 12000mah cells in a 4D and a 6D. Lots of run time, good quality cells. I got mine from Thomas Distributing also.
 
OK... Are the rechargeable D cells inferior in run time or capacity to Alkaline D cells?
 
Allbattery.com and batteryspace sell Tenergy/Powerex NiMH Ds rated at 10000mAH. Prices are pretty good.
 
I've had good luck with Tenergy 10,000 mah D cells in a 3D Mag as well as a Camp fan that takes D cells. While I don't do anything extreme I only use the Mag maybe an hour a week, but I haven't had to charge it for several weeks and still going strong. The camp fan takes 2 D's and lasts at least 8 hours on one charge(would last longer, have not used it for more than 8 hours at a time). I use a Maha 808M for charging these cells. Overall I've been pleased with the performance of the cells I've gotten from Tenergy(all-battery.com) including C, D, AA, AAA cells. They seem to work pretty well for my uses at a very reasonable price. They are heavy, I'm sure I could take out a horse with my 3D loaded up with these. Who needs the gym, just use these batteries!

Now on to the cheapest charging solution for these 12,000mAh D-nimh's - any ideas?
 
In overall capacity, yes, but this will only be realized at very low current draw.

This is a great question that I had, too. Additionally, does anyone know of chargers that will charge at least 6 rechargeable D cells at once? I'm trying to weasel out of buying two chargers just to charge 6 Ds for my in-the-work ROP...

Maha C808M - That's what I'm using for mine. Works great.
 
Looks like a nice charger. But - hoo-ee! Nearly 90 smackers to charge what will be 2 D's at a time for me =D are there any smaller/more affordable chargers out there?
