Seriously considering getting a Streamlight SL-20L.

I just love the look of the light, and its modes (yes, including strobe) would prove ideal as a light for my needs.

but when the end of the world gets here next week, you will not be able to carry any supplies in your backpack with all those spare cells. :laughing:

Nitecore P25, takes stock cells not custom. is powerful with a mega long run time low as well. takes any usb too :-)

Personally, I like the PowerTac Hero. Not only rechargeable, but can be used as a USB charger too! Look for my review on it.
 
My Fenix TK75 is the best go-to light in my collection.

If it had a way of recharging the batteries from an external plug it would have been the ultimate to my way of thinking.

I know there is the rechargeable Fenix RC40 with its propriatary battery pack but I have felt it and it is a lot more heavier and cumbersome than my TK75.

The issues surrounding sealed battery units like those used in the Olight SR90 - SR95 series that I have some of brings about many divided thoughts and opinions.

I think I can buy one of the the Supbeam K40 or whatever it is that has the rechargeable battery carrier setup and swap it to some of my Thrunite TN30 and TN31 lights but they only put out around 1000 lumens as against about 3000 using the TK75.

My friends that are not familiar with Lithium Ion battery usage would love my TK75 if it had a dock or external plug to charge it up and so would I, even though I have heaps of Lithium Ion batteries, chargers and flashlights in my cupboard.

New stuff is coming out all the time so maybe my perfect go-to light will soon appear.

I have an SX25L2T and love it. Reliable, taken a few good drops and kept going. The UI is best of any light I have and would love to have it in all of them. The throw is excellent for the size, 300 yards and I can make out black cows. Also has good spill at distance, up close its a little tight of a beam but with the diffuser lens its great. Go ahead and get the kit version, the extra lenses are worth it, I use the yellow lens for better color rendition at distance. Runtime is also really good.

I think the rechargeable lights are going to quickly become an industry standard. I can't wait to see how the market works this out though. The ease of use and utility is the way to go. I do say this under the premise that the batteries can still be removed and replaced if necessary as in a standard flashlight.

My only recommendation is get the gx25l2 because you ca use a wider variety of batteries. It has the same specs as the sx25l2 just with a wider variety of power sources.
 
I have the MX25L2 SST-90 Turbo and 2 GX25L2 (1 with diffuser on it and the other with turbo head). Love every thing there is about all 3. And I like the in light charging. Charge them on top of metal stove and disconnect charger soon after charge is done. I do check the voltage on occasion of the original proprietary battery packs. Yes, there could be an issue with in series charging so I don't stand over stove why it's happening. :D

Hi Samson, I have been seriously thinking of also getting this light and adding it to my collection, but just wating for FourSevens to have a sale on now and again, I just hope that they do discount this if not I will have to buy it at full cost of $100, though the good thing is they throw in free shipping worldwide which is a bonus.

Just some questions re this torch:

1. How do you find the size of it, I saw it on YouTube and they said its quite compact
2. I read where if you wanted it to work on all th functions etc and charge up you need to use the supplied battery and its some special type of 18650 cell.
3. Is the colour of the beam a whitish tint
4. Is this torch value for money for what you get, eg build quality etc.

Hi Trevtrain I am sure these lights have been well engineered and designed to be charged and also to be charged safely as well without causing any harm etc. Also I am assuming they will trickle charge so it will be a slow charge. And re failure points to be honest here I seriously dont think there will be much more parts in a rechargeable torch than what you get in a normal non rechargeable torch, who knows probbaly 5% more but thats really bugger all.

If you can use the light while charging than use another light, I mean surely you being a flashoholic like the rest of us would have more than one light thats for sure.

And finally to make matters more simple why not charge the torch over night when you sleep and when you wake up it will be all nice an ready for you.

I have this light and have now used it in the field a few times. It is outstanding in design and build, and runs a long time. I also have the turbo version and it is second only to my TK75. The MX version is to big and the GX version doesn't run as long. Great choice. In my opinion, the Strion is too small and weak. The SX tucks nicely under your arm and is more powerful.
 
I am still rocking the following:

-Inova T4

-Pelican 7060

-Streamlight Stinger TerraLUX Conversion

-TigerLight FBOP with TerraLUX SL20 LED Conversion

The Inova is the best of the bunch and it is not even the latest generation of Inova T4.
 
Olight R40 seeker, awesome light! Takes regular 26650's too so always a backup cell handy.
