Recieved my E2D today!

:rock: Ordered a SureFire E2D at BatteryJunction 10 days ago, recieved it to day.
It came in the sealed black and red plastic box, with 10 free cr123`s.
At first, when ordering, I was thinking about buying an E1L or E1E, but now after seeing the Defender, I`m glad I went for the "large" one.
I suppose the (very)sharp edges on the bezel and tailcap are normal, but I do have to buy a holster for it someday...or buy new jeans on a monthly basis...

(My girlfriends first response seeing the sureFire was: "wow, it`s so small".
And thats OK when talking about flashlights. May we never hear those words in another context/setting )

Yes, that's why it's a "Defender".

Hi,

If you think that the bezel head is too offensive, you could get an F04 or similar to put on the head. The head would then be protected if you drop it, and if you remove the diffuserlens you still have the spot! If you want flood, put the diffuserlens back.

HO-E2A (for the E2E serie) with 110 Lumen vs 60 Lumen and 75 min vs 85 min. I have ordered some and I am looking forward to see how they would preform compared to SF's lamps.

Great light. I had mine E2D in my pant or jean pocket every day for the last 1 year. So far there is no need for me to buy jeans on a monthly basis.

Congrats on your new purchase. I too wanted to get one awhile ago but decided not to due to it being an incan.
I am prone to LEDs due to its easy maintenance and long life. But I kinda like its TC and head. So in the end i purchased an E2D tc from a cpfer and mate it to a e2e body also bought from another cpfer. The head is the KL1. Nice to hold, looks brutal and can stand up!!
I will be looking out for a e2d with led from SF...........hopefully!!

this one is better, EO-E2R with 150lumens. but of course it will lessen the runtime

or you can put PEU's pineapple on E2D. and that is sweet! :rock:

Just got my E2D last night and love it! Such a nice size...much smaller than my Z2 and C2. My wife likes it too and wants one, but she says that often with my lights and when I get her something, she doesn't do anything with it. Been carrying since I got it (well, not when I went to bed). Beam is whiter than any P60, W/E, or L/F LA I have for my C-series, but obviously not as bright. Still pretty darn bright, especially when running on 2x 3V R123As. SWEEEEET light!

Which brand of 3V R123's are you using. there are quite a few in the market and they come off the charger at 3.6V. Did you have any problems with the lamp of the E2D.

I have an E2E and I love the light. It would be even brighter with the rechargeables if the lamp could handle it.

I also ordered the E series lamp from Lumens Factory 7.2V 150 Lumens!!!:laughing:
