Recognize this thing?

Somebody I work with was tossing this thing away because it's not working. It's nicely weighted and I love a project so I thought I'd bring it home and try my hand at fixing it. I'm pretty sure it's nothing more than a break inside one of the wires. A simple solder job, but I'd like to know its brand name and model number if at all possible.

Heh, sorry. I realized I forgot the operative part right after I posted this. I tried to post again, but I guess the Mod thought it was a duplicate. Anyway, here it is.

What cells does it use?

Two AA's. It has a plastic spacer tube going up the center of it to fit the cells. Single LED.

i have 2 of those, home depot used to sell them 2 for 9.99
noting special, 8mm strawhat diode, (with plesantly warmish tint), simplest driver, 2aa but if you pull the sleeve out 18650 will fit.
the bezel's threads are glued, i used wise, and had to drill 2 holes in bezel to put a rod thru to unscrew it, wanted to mod it, but lost interest, since better hosts are around, one of them i still keep stock, good loaner light.
