Hi guys good to be back.

After a while using the many lights i own already i have found the things that are important in a flashlight to me.

The things i need out of a flashlight are,

The ability to tailstand (big selling point)

Antiroll feature (big selling point)

I like forward clickys at the tail (forward clicky big selling point)

I would like a clip

A few levels of brightness from 10 up to say 180 lumens

Battery choice, CR123 being prefered then eneloops then RCR123 or 18650 no triple battery configurations

Waterproof

More flood than throw but not just flood

Nothing cheap like a dx, more on the level of nitecore fenix, surefire
the latter being above my price range of up to £50

One more thing, size, no bigger than a P3D, i like the size of my nitecore defender

Thats quite a task, i found the closest to my needs is the nitecore D20 but its a bit big

I look forward to your suggestions and hope you all have a very Merry Christmas:party::grin2:

why not a fenix pd30, meets all your criteria except for the forward clicky

I would get the Nitecore D10 with optional clip. Then get some AW 14500s and a li-on charger. That way you can run 14500s in both your Defender and D10 and get ~180 lumens out of both. You get a new light that does what you want and improve the performance of your old light as well for little added cost :D

theres two things i dont like about the PD3D, the clicky and the stupid modes it has, they just get in the way plus i already have a P3D,

I would like the light to come on the second a press the button and if i want turn it off in a split second without actually locking it on

I can see where you are coming from with it being able to tailstand and a nice antiroll feature, but im not sure i can live with its switch.

Thanks anyway good backup if i dont find the perfect one.

Ill have a look at the jetbeam they do sound good

Hey toaster, thats a mighty fine idea, one question though.

Is the piston as sticky on the D10 as it is on the EX10, i have tried loads of different lubes and amounts but still after a few clicks it gets all sticky again.

I really do like that suggestion, why didnt i think of that:thumbsup:

I have no idea if EX10s are more prone to sticky piston syndrome compared to D10s. Might get a better response if you posted in one of the dedicated D10/EX10 threads floating around ;)
