hello, thanks for coming in.
yes, - something latest Surefire like my PD32UE, but surefire.
I saw that in the ' must have ' list that surefire was top alongside HDS!.
impressive.
I think im swaying away now from china, over now to american made flashlights....


SF in neutral white?.

the real question is, what You now want in a light, as opposed to the Fenix.

more output?
other size?
what battery?
more exclusivity?
.

... You already have the tip of getting a SF 6P (or Solarforce) host + a P60 led insert in some of Your threads, this will not change.
And it will not get better, as this is the setup in the moment

Check the 320 lumen version of the G2X/6PX lights. I'm not sure what led they used but it has a warmer tint than the 200 lumen version.
 
Oveready Surefire host and a P60 drop-in of your choice.

Mine's a Black matte anodised 6P with a triple Nichia 219 with narrow optic.

True dat :) it comes down to use purpose.there are very different kinds of UI and sizes and shapes in Surefires arsenal.
 
thanks, well looking for a neutral surefire, but the site does not really state which LED's they have in their flashlights right?.

ALSO, someone mentioned something elsewhere about member ' nailbender' having the best P60 drop ins for the SF in the highest CRI.

There is also an XML single die HCRI.
Nailbender offers a P60 with XML in HCRI 90+ 3200K S6 bin.
Beautiful warm tint with great color, like incan it's amazing outdoors!​

Yeah, don't worry about which one as far as specs, just get one you like the looks of, then do as everyone above says, throw out the SF guts, and just use the body as a host.

If you go to CPFM you can get a decent host SF body.

You can also get a SF compatible body made by others, and so forth.
 
Like most have said. Surefire makes incredible parts. Their emitters aren't always the best though. That's where guys like Malkoff Devices and Nailbender come in. They make the light emitter. They are the top of the power, reliability tint pyramid.
If I had to recommend something, it would be like sayyyyy......Surefire Z2 and Malkoff M61 SHO.. what a perfect combo.. and I even happen to have them both for sale...:naughty:

Others really good combos, that I don't have up for sale would be, C2, 6P, with your choice of Malkoff dropin.

A good all round SF which oozes SF's quality, is the U2. If you just want to get a taste of why SF is so awesome, check that out, and then jump into the P60 drop-in boat.

I have a limited knowledge about Surefire but can say a few things about how I see it that might be of interest.

Surefire makes tactical lights
That means (IMHO) reliable, easy to use lights. In most cases single mode or 2-mode. No advanced UI's that you might do wrong with under stress.
It's no beauty contest regarding tint. The light is bright enough and balanced to runtime.

From what I have read in other threads I have understood that you like neutral white and want other lights with similar tints.
Therefor I think it's a good idea to do as others have said and get a P60 light and a dropin like M61W or something else nice.

I myself also like neutral white but have some cool white lights that I like also (tintwise).
My G2x pro is one of them.
If I compare it directly to, let's say, the M61WL that I have it doesn't look that pretty.
But if I just grab the light and go out and only use that light I would say that it has a white neutral(ish) beam.

Another thing to consider is the UI and number of levels.
The simple and great tactical single mode UI of the 6P isn't very great if you are looking for an EDC light with low, medium and high, right?
There are multimode dropins if you want that in neutral white I think (Vinh?).

If you want to run 18650 you have to bore it but 17670 works stock.

What do I have:
6P with M61WL with 17670 - super cool classic, feels like real quality. Very nice tint / beam.
C2 with Lumens Factory dropin, throwy, nice tint, maybe 5000-5500 K. Runs on 17670 (single cell only!). Also a classic.
G2x pro, tint as above. Good beam profile. 2 useful levels.
E2DL, my only TIR light. Runs on primaries. I think the TIR lens works great for +10 m distance but if you want to light up things or the ground closer in front of you I think a reflector light is better.

They don't get that much use by me beacuse I have 1xAAA in my jeans pocket, maybe ZL in my jacket and some Fenix and others spread out.
But when I use them they just give a nice, warm feeling.

The newer U2's have a whiter tint, and the older ones have a warmer and/or greener tint. Tint wasn't really an issue when these first came out, so it was never really discussed until the newer LED's started coming out.
