1. Must take one 18650

2. Must be LED

3. Cost not very important *gulp*

4. Throw is more important than anything else

Thank you

I am not very good at the high end lights, so Ill let the surefire fiends cover that.

However, check out this 70 dollar one. Should have pretty decent throw with a larger reflector and designed for it.

If you really want true throw, you will need to do some more serious research here. There are lots that really specialize in high throw with aspheric lens, etc.

Some other high throw LED lights taking 1 18650, roughly from throwiest down:
Tiablo A10 (aspheric)
Tiablo A9 (aspheric version)
Raidfire Spear
Dereelight DBS V3
JetBeam RRT-1
Ray Tactical D1
4Sevens Maelstrom G5
EagleTac T20C2
Olight M20
EagleTac T100C2
Fenix TK11
Lumacraft D-Mini w/extension tube
JetBeam RRT-2
JetBeam Jet-III M

Thanks for all the interesting replies.

Cistallus, after more research I have found that there is no aspheric A10, but A9 aspheric heads can still be purchased.

Not cheap though, need to think it over.

I was just about to start a similar thread. Waspy I hope you don't mind if I piggyback on yours.

I haven't been following flashlight design/tech for several years and I don't want to spend 2 weeks searching the Internet when somebody here probably has the answer in their head.

Anyone know a light like this?
what you are doing is called "hijacking" a thread, and is not ok. just start a new one of your own - it's really not so hard (look for the blue button that says new thread).

The Fenix LD10 has the push button AA criteria you want, but a couple more stroby flashy modes. Price is close to your limit.

Well, thanks for more input. I think I am going to get a Tiablo A9 but without the colluminator (or whatever it's called). Carrot, that Maelstrom G5 looks great but I think the Tiablo A9 is looking like my best 'bang for buck' single 18650 thrower. I know I said cost was not important but perhaps that was a bit rash :)
