I have quite a few lights, but no focusable lights. I'd like to try one out. Asides from the romisen rc-29, led lenser p5 and m5, what else is there? Between the three i've listed, what, in your opinion for your uses, is the best? (I do own better lights like quarks jetbeam fenix etc.. so don' try to encourage me out of a focusable light as i already have others).

I guess there aren't too many focusable 1AA lights i take it from the dearth of responses?

Sipik68 is an AA / 14500 compatible light that's focus able.
Romisen has a few,
There wa a 2AA Wolf-eyes, it looks sharp.
Rumor has it that Fenix's next light will be focusAble. There was a pic floating around from the ShotShow

yup, you already listed the focusable ones. not too many guys here are into those lights. coz normally we have lights for flood, we have lights for throw. and we prefer lights with ipx8 ratings. 🙂

I know coast makes a lot of focusable lights, the led lensers and all that. I don't own any and dont know how well they work, but good luck with your search

TIR or something with a tightly focused spot + removable diffuser?

Anyone know whether the tailcap from that one will fit their RC-G2?

I think I saw a post from 4sevens saying that a reason there are few focusable lights is because Coast LEDLenser has the patents for it.

Ditto! I also have thowy lights and flood lights, but these focusable ones (even though i know they're of lesser quality and gimmicky) just have always interested me. I've put them off for a long time and i've gotten a lot of great lights from the reputable and recommended brands on CPF, but as i have something for all the uses i would need a light for now, i just wanted to try something i don't have -- ie. that pesky focusable light.

Ohh i like that sipik68 light. Thanks for letting me know! For the money, it's a winner over the others as this is just a light for playing.

If fenix does release a focusable light, that should be something. Was the rumour about a lithium powered or nimh powered?

I'm not sure on the batter type of the new Fenix, I didn't get a great look at it.
The threads only 3 weeks old

The Sipik68 is a fun light for the price, and decently made

I just searched for the fenix focusable light and apparently according to a thread i found, between march and april is when a lot of their new lights are coming out. Something to look forward to. I guess my fenix collection's going to get larger again. sigh... hheheh

I have one of the RC-29's, a 123 model with a neutral C4 emitter in it. I got it mainly because I wanted something inexpensive to use as a nightstand light, and I have a pile of 123 primaries laying around that I never use because I only have bought AA and 18650 based lights so far. But some of them are also 2x123 compatible, and whenever I've bought a 1x18650 from Bug-out Gear, Flavio throws in a couple of 123 primaries with the order. I also got my son one of the AA versions of the RC29 and it's his favorite light. I like mine just because it's fun to play with; for my purposes, a nightstand light is about all it's really good for, to be honest.

i have 2 LedLensers that are both focusable but after trying some good lights i realised they're ok for throwing but terrible for a flood light. Then i bought a dedicated thrower & now
i want to sell my LedLensers:shrug:

Coming out this year... (it's already on the Maglite website) is the Mini Mag Pro and Mini Mag Pro+. link removed 200+ lumens to shatter the night using two little AA's. Focusable and will likely have multiple power settings. I expect it to run $40-50.

I found another 1aa focusable light. It's quite old though. It's the torch light C78. Rather generic name, implying it's a cheapie light, but hmmmm. Still like the RC-29 and sipik.

FYI in case anyone else wanted to put together a tail standing single mode non focusing romisen- it fits, but does not function on the rc-g2.
