Hey everyone,

I was wondering whare I could recycle my used batteries? The local waste station won't take them. I can recycle them, right??? thanks.

your local Radio Shack should take them with no problem. the Town/County guys should take automotive batteries atleast

Just collect them in a tub and walk them into the electronics department on your next Fred Meyer run. Pretty much anything accept car batteries.

I recently found that LOWES takes them. They have a bin right near the customer service / returns desk.

There is a place for:

1) Batteries
2) CFL Bulbs
3) Plastic bags

I collected mine in a 1Q Poweraid bottle.

Best Buy also takes batteries for recycling. There is a self service drop bin usually near the entrance.

From their web site: "Every U.S. Best Buy store has free kiosks, just inside the door, for you to drop off ink and toner cartridges, rechargeable batteries, and wires, cords and cables."

Slightly OT: The ink and toner carts have some value. I take them to Staples and would get $3/cartridge.
